IN-PERSON SERVICES HAVE RESUMED AT THE CHURCH
We have resumed our in-person church services with some social distancing changes. Adult Contemporary Issues Sunday school class has resumed (Christians In Action will not meet until further notice). Children's Church, children's Sunday school and Nursery will resume on Sunday, July 12th.
We will still be offering virtual worship services for those that choose to wait longer for in-person worship. Please visit www.njumc.com and click on "virtual worship" on the home page and the "What's Happening Now Page".
FROM THE PASTOR...
I do not have quite the same understanding of what it means to have someone be my pastor that most people have. When I spent several years in youth ministry there were senior pastors, but in those relationships they served more as a supervisor or mentor. Before that, there was really one pastor at whatever church I attended and we lived in the same house. I am a pastor's kid.

KID'S CLOSET NEWS
The
"Pack-a-Backpack" event will be held on
August 3rd & 4th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. This event is open to all children in need in Starke County. We will be doing the event differently this year because of social distancing. It will be a Drive-thru only event and more details will be provided at a later date. There is a box in the Narthex for school supplies drop off. Thank you to all those who support this ministry. MATCHING GRANT FOR OUTREACH BUILDING PURCHASE
We are excited to announce that the Starke County Community Foundation has awarded NJUMC a matching grant to help us purchase the Outreach Building that houses our Kid's Closet and Food Pantry ministries!!! The grant is for $20,000.00 and is a dollar for dollar match program that will run from June 24th through December 31st, 2020. The grant will be awarded when we provide verification to the foundation that $20,000.00 has been raised, and the remaining amount has been procured for the purchase of the building. If you would like to donate to help purchase the building (and have your dollars matched), please make check out to NJUMC and mark on your donation
"BUILDING PURCHASE"
. Checks earmarked for Kid's Closet, the Food Pantry or the Outreach Building Expense Fund will be used for those ministries and will NOT be matched. We are very appreciative of the Starke County Community Foundation for their huge part in helping us raise the funds to purchase the Outreach Building which houses the ministries that serve so many children and hungry families in our county.
