IN THIS ISSUE

FROM THE PASTOR...
Church

It has been my observation that over the past few years more and more people have begun to go along with the commercial push to start the "Christmas season" as early as November 1st.  The past few years I have noticed on social media that people making posts about putting their Christmas tree up in the first couple weeks of November have become more and more common.

"God has been good to me".  What a great
Thanksgiving verse from Genesis!  Why do
you celebrate Thanksgiving - to give thanks
to God for all He has done for you?  Do you
have a home, a family, food to eat, a job,
freedom to attend church, and a great
country in which to live?  God has given all
of these things to you!
Pilgrims were thankful for God's goodness to them.  From stories about these people our preschoolers will see that Thanksgiving is a great time to thank God for all the goodness and love that He has shown them.
We will celebrate this special time by
learning about the first Thanksgiving and
creating colorful turkeys.  We will be doing activities on shapes.  We will be learning about the circle, square, triangle, and rectangle. I thank God for all of my Little Lights
and their parents!  God surely has been
good to me!

FROM THE FOOD PANTRY ... Matthew 25: 37 & 40; (37) ..."Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you...?" (40)..."I tell you the truth, whatever you did, for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 21st to volunteer! The NJUMC Food Pantry will have its 9th Annual Community Food Drive. Volunteers will be needed for (2) hour shifts at Dollar Store (NJ & Knox), Bailey's and Save-A-Lot to hand out fliers to shoppers as they enter the store listing the food items needed. The shoppers have an opportunity to purchase an item(s) from the list and deposit it in a shopping cart when they exit the store. Please fill out your volunteer slip below and bring it to church and put it in the offering plate. Thank You!
