Great Give = Great Support for NK Kids!

Our community is amazing!

Thanks to 99 generous donors, we raised $11,260 during the Kitsap Great Give to provide NK students with a strong start for the 2021-22 school year. Funds will support teacher-driven grants that inspire, innovate and go beyond the basics. We award grants annually that are open to all grade levels and all NKSD schools.

Grant Spotlight – Listening Library

Did you know? The Foundation awarded NK elementary librarians $5,000 in January to purchase audiobooks through a program called Sora. This grant reaches 2,300 elementary students and since implementation, students have averaged 46 minutes per day listening to audiobooks! NKSD has designated audiobooks as a critical resource to keep students reading and developing their literacy skills. A student’s book report noted, “Sora is awesome!!”
