Summer Social 2018: Gotham County Fair
NKBA Manhattan Chapter
, in conjunction with our sister organizations
IDS
,
IFDA
, and
DLFNY
, combined forces to produce the New York City design industry party of the year, better known as the Summer Social! This year's social theme was "Gotham County Fair," which drew hundreds of trade professionals. Costumes ranged widely, with some attendees really getting into the spirit! Our generous sponsors Hafele and TOTO threw quite a hoe down, complete with country music courtesy of
Squeeze Rock
members
Julian Hintz , Michael Vitali, and Mary Feaster, with special guest

The Manhattan K&B Design community sure is social! If you missed the Gotham County Fair Summer Social graciously hosted by
H
ä
fele
and
TOTO
on July 18,
you missed an epic party!
I want to thank our hosts and all of the members of the Summer Social Committee for an amazing effort in making this summer’s celebration the best yet. We even attracted national attention, with
Lorenzo Marquez
,
NKBA National Chairman of the Board
, in attendance.
What do we have to celebrate? Trade organizations that give us the opportunity to learn, share, and enjoy the company of colleagues and peers in an industry that positively impacts how people live. Our community continues to thrive due to the efforts of our council and auxiliary members who bring entertaining education and great networking opportunities to our members.
This year, our
July Council Dinner
, held at
TileBar
, was attended by over 30 people who want to be involved in continuing these efforts. The focus of the evening was to keep the energy and refreshments flowing while we brainstormed programs, discussing the industry and how our community can impact relevant social causes.
Looking forward, we have
KBIS
, the national celebration of our industry, held on
February 19 to 21, 2019,
at the
Las Vegas Convention Center
. Mark your calendars and register early! Free registration is available for NKBA members from
September 4 through September 30
.
We will have
NKBA Manhattan
meetups at
KBIS 2019
, and a great time is always had by all.
In September, we are also pleased to support the “
Top Designer’s Kitchen Challenge
” during “
What’s New, What’s Next
” at the
NYDC
on
September 13
. This event, with sponsor money benefitting the winner’s charity, will be hosted by
InHouse Kitchen Bath Home
, and the top designers will include
NKBA Insider Elle H-Millard
. We hope to see you there!

Lineadecor at AIA Conference
Lineadecor USA
officially made its debut in the American market at this year's
AIA Conference
. The company participated in the distinguished architecture expo on
June 21 & 22
at
The Javits Center
. They displayed their latest kitchen model,
Etna
, which provides an abundance of inspirations for architects and designers alike.
Etna’s
unique concrete-textured features were influenced by industrial design and reflect a modern and confident aesthetic for a dynamic kitchen that is suitable for fast urban life.
Etna
is flexible because of its concrete and metal textures, which create admirable contrast when paired with the warmth of raw wood. Congratulations to the
Lineadecor
team!
