A Word from Charles

Merry Christmas Everyone,

The Christmas season is upon us, and this will be the first Christmas in Northern Kentucky for the Frazier’s. We are looking forward to spending time with our Pastors and Wives on Saturday December 10 at 10 am at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. We will fellowship and enjoy a brunch meal together. Please call the NKBA office so we can know on how many to prepare.

During these past seven weeks, I have enjoyed getting to know some of our pastors and churches of NKBA. Looking forward to meeting every pastor and every church in NKBA.

As we think of the birth of our Savior, I read the passage of Scripture that introduces the Wise men from the East. In Matthew 2:2, they said, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” Of course, we know this caused quite a stir for Herod as he felt threatened of this latest news.  As we read this account, we find that the Wise Men saw the star in the East and they traveled towards the star. Somewhere along the way they did not see the star any longer. This prompted them to seek Herod. The reason that I think this thought is because when they departed from Herod, they saw the star once again (verse 9). When they saw the star “they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.” (verse 10).

I wonder how many nights they traveled, and they did not see the star. I wonder how many nights they stared into the heavens looking for the star. What was on their minds as they traveled? They were committed to the task to seeing the newborn King. They continued the journey even though the star was not shining.

Sometimes in life, we walk in the darkness of midnight. We know that God is there but sometimes we can’t see Him. There are times that we don’t feel Him. It may be days or weeks in this experience. Just because we cannot see Him or feel Him does not mean that He is not there. You may be going through a Wise Men Experience. They did not stop, and they were able to see the Messiah. I encourage you to continue because the Lord is working, and He will show you what you have not been able to see.

On January 19, Ron Crow, KBC Disaster Relief Director, will be at Burlington Baptist Church for CHURCH READY training. This is for all members of our churches. As you remember, December 10, we experienced devastating tornado in Kentucky. Churches worked together to help during that time. The CHURCH READY training will allow our churches to begin preparing for when disaster strikes in our area. The training will be from 6:30-8:30 pm. More information will be arriving shortly.

Lastly Miss Vickie and I thank you for welcoming us to Northern Kentucky. We appreciate your kindness and offers of help. We feel we have a great opportunity to serve the Lord together at NKBA.

Merry Christmas,
Bro. Charles Frazier

READY CHURCH
January 19, 2023
6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Burlington Baptist Church

Open to all interested church members.
Churches can prepare for disaster by developing a strategy to minister to their communities during a crisis. This is done through facilities preparation, member training, securing supplies, and developing protocols to activate the church’s disaster response plan.
READY CHURCH is a strategy plan to assist churches in preparing for disasters that can strike their communities. It helps churches prepare, connect, and respond in times of disaster. The plan identifies some of the likely disaster scenarios that may occur in a church’s community and why the congregation needs to be prepared if it is to be effective in ministry.
Contact the NKBA office to give us a count of those attending. Thank you!
