Coming Events and Information

A Word from Charles

Merry Christmas Everyone. I love the lyrics that state, “It is the most wonderful time of the year.” This year, the Christmas Spirit came early for me. Yes, I was one of those who started listening to Christmas music on November 01. I learned of a new radio station in Northern Kentucky. It is Star 93.3 and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to it in the truck and at home.

As stated earlier, “It is the most wonderful time of the year”, provides another great opportunity to share Jesus Christ. Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ in a very dark world is very important as believers in Jesus Christ. We have a season that provides a giant opening in our schedules to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Yes, in this Christmas season we say we are busy but what are we busy about? Is it something that will last for eternity or until the next Christmas season. We trouble ourselves finding the right gift but what about the gift of salvation, the GREATEST GIFT of all.

One of the favorite verses of Scripture for this time of year is Galatians 4:4, “But when the fulness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law.” This verse tells about the birth of Jesus Christ. The birth of Christ happened on God’s timetable. There were things that needed to be accomplished in the land of Israel before Christ could be born. At the close of the Old Testament there was 400 years of silence from Heaven. Here on the earth, it was a very noisy time. We see the rise and fall of the world empires. As you read the Old Testament, you see the great empires of the Babylonians, Medes and Persians, Greeks, and Romans. All these God used to set the stage for the miraculous birth of our Savior. God’s people had to be in the right position for Christ to be born. The response of Simeon and Anna reveal the expectation of the coming Messiah.

God prepared the way for His Son to be born. Then He sent His Son. God sent His Son for you and me. Also, I think of the lyrics, “He came special delivery all wrapped in love, Bound by a promise, sealed by a Dove." What a wonderful message to share at Christmas. Once again, remember people are more open to attending church services at Christmas. This provides a great opportunity. Don’t miss this opportunity to invite family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors to your services. I hear the response that we have invited them many times and they know where we are. This Christmas may be the one that totally changes their lives or leads to the next step. God calls us to go and share. God calls us to go and tell it. My last lyric, “Go tell it on the mountain over the hills and everywhere that Jesus Christ is born.” We have many souls to reach in Northern Kentucky. Let us go!

Merry Christmas,

Bro. Charles
