It's a new year and a great time to take advantage of one of the many benefits of North Kansas City Business Council membership by hosting a monthly NKCBC Friday Coffee event. The monthly coffees are a popular networking event for NKCBC members, elected officials, and other NKC businesses and organizations.
Following are just a few reasons to host an event:
-
New to the North Kansas City Business Community? Introduce your business and get connected!
- Been around for a while? Reintroduce your business and engage attendees in an activity or provide a demonstration to showcase and reacquaint everyone with your products or services.
- Made renovations, relocated, or undergone a major expansion? Provide a tour and tell us all about it!
- Is your business celebrating a significant anniversary or reaching some other major milestone? Let us help you celebrate and spread the word!
-
Just like coffee and donuts and some great conversation? We do too!
No matter the reason, hosting a NKCBC Friday Coffee event is an opportunity to promote your

business and let people know who you are and what you do, introduce staff, and share details about any special projects, new initiatives, or future plans that may be "in the works". You'll make a long-lasting impression on attendees and generate meaningful word of mouth promotion and awareness of your business or organization long after the event.
The coffees are generally held on the 1st Friday of the month, however a few will be held on the 2nd Friday due to scheduling conflicts.
The following dates are available:
May 5th, 2023
July 7th, 2023
August 4th, 2023
October 6th, 2023
November 3rd, 2023

From Christmas shopping to special visits from the Kansas City Chiefs Players, the North Kansas City School District is staying busy and keeping their students on track in the best of ways!
|
|
|
Back in early December, the Kansas City Police Department teamed up with the district to treat 35 lucky kiddos to a special shopping spree at Target for the annual Shop with a Cop. This is such a lovely tradition that we couldn't pass up the chance to share!

|
Right before winter break, Maple Park Middle School welcomed a very special guest! Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman stopped by to play basketball in the adaptive gym class, then went on to help school administrators pass out gifts to the teachers! What a great way to spread some holiday spirit and get everyone pumped for some Chiefs Football! Go Chiefs!

Last fall, the North Kansas City School District partnered with Missouri Enterprise to put together manufacturing tours for 8th Grade Students from Antioch and Maple Park Middle Schools. Companies such as Tnemec, Stuppy Greenhouses, Exltube, Sterling Luxury Coaches and several others, all opened their doors to these students in an effort to improve work-based learning experiences, to prepare them for life after high school. As students begin to select pathways in the eighth grade, the school district realizes that they need to expose students to more opportunities before they select a pathway of interests. Manufacturing tours provide just that! Students are able to get an inside view of a company based upon the four pathways, School of Business, Leadership & Entrepreneurship, School of Design, Innovation & Technology, School of Health & Wellness and School of Human Services. Exposure allows informed decisions to occur more often for students interested in careers within many of our local companies and organizations. This spring, they plan on offering the same opportunities to 8th grade students at New Mark and Northgate Middle Schools, but they need YOUR HELP! Businesses just like yours can participate in this fun and educational experience to help build the future workers of NKC.
The tours will be the same structure used from the fall and will be done on two different dates for each school due to the student count. Companies can select both dates and/or select the dates that works best for their schedules. The deadline to sign up for this is January 27th, 2023! Please click here for more information and how to register, or register here!
Time for Visit/Tour:
10:00am-11:45am
Dates:
New Mark Middle School (450 students) on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023.
13 Sites needed.
Northgate Middle School (350 students) on Wednesday April 5th, 2023
10 Sites needed.
