Hi everyone. Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend.

We did hire one more guy! That's four employees now, besides myself and my wife.

I have mixed feelings about this to be honest. On the one hand, I would prefer to work alone. I'm a very productive person and I can turn out a lot of very high quality work in a day. I much prefer to work with my hands and make something, versus managing other people to do the work.

On the other hand, I'm getting older and the wear and tear on my back (sciatica) from the years I was a roadie and soundman and then 27 years in new home construction in Maine are really taking their toll now. It's SOOO much easier having the help in the shop, plus it frees me up to work on new designs.

I'm happy to say that I have four great guys working for me right now. Besides being skilled and productive, these are all guys that I like to be around on a personal level, and that I can fully trust.

Volti Audio speaker production is cranking along very nicely these days.

AX 2025

AXPONA proved once again that it is the king of audio shows here in the U.S. It's held in a fantastic venue, there's a huge number of rooms, and an enormous crowd jamming those rooms full all weekend.

The Volti Audio room was packed most of the weekend with audiophiles anxious to hear the New Vittora speakers. Even Sunday was busy, which is often not the case at audio shows. There have been times at other shows where I've poked my head out of the door on a Sunday afternoon and looked down the hallway and all I heard were crickets chirping.

The response to the sound in our room was overwhelmingly positive. Many people came back to our room multiple times. Here's what one of those people said:

"At the recent Axpona show in Chicago, I had the good fortune to have several sessions in the Volti room with the New Vittora. Even after reading the glowing reports from other shows and the information regarding the improvements made, not to mention the photos of the well crafted new look - I still wasn't fully prepared for the sound in the room. Wow.

In a couple of his recent newsletters, Greg shares his thoughts on hearing other systems at recent shows. With those comments in mind, I felt the need for an occasional return to the Volti room to "cleanse my ears." Once you get dialed in to what the Vittora does, and does so well, compared to other approaches, especially those with six and seven figure price tags, so much of it seems like an unfortunate waste of time and effort. If the opportunity presents itself, do yourself the favor of some time with the New Vittora.

At Axpona, as much fun as it was to listen, it was almost as much fun watching the reaction of others in the room."

Yes indeed, I also got a kick out of watching the reaction to people listening to this system.

As I've said all along, the New Vittora is the finest speaker I've ever heard, and I think a lot of other people might have felt the same way that weekend.

The Audiophiliac

A funny and cool thing happened during the show. Steve Guttenberg popped in for a visit and the room was very full. He stood off to the side and listened for a couple of minutes and when the song ended the room was quiet and he spoke up and said, "it sounds GREAT where I'm standing - you all are sitting in the wrong place!"

A couple hours later, someone came into my room and asked me if I had heard what Steve Guttenberg said about the Volti Room. I said no, what? He said Steve thought the Volti Room was the best sounding room at the show! I asked him where he heard that and he said Steve was giving a presentation in the ballroom to several hundred people and he mentioned five rooms at the show that he thought were noteworthy, with the Volti Room being his favorite.

This was confirmed by several other people who came to our room that afternoon.

Very cool!

Did you know?

Each year I help a few customers put together whole systems built around a pair of my Volti Audio speakers. If you're needing more than just speakers, I'll help you put together a system that has the same kind of synergy that our show rooms are known for. I am an authorized dealer for the products that I recommend, and there are system discounts available with the purchase of a pair of Volti Audio speakers.

A New Volti Audio Speaker Model?

Image created with ChatGPT

I've just started working on a new speaker model, and you all are the first to hear about it. I've done the initial cabinet CAD work and in the next week or so the CNC shop will be making the first pair of test cabinets for me. I have the drivers here already.

This is an attempt to broaden our lineup with a model priced below the Razz. I'm targeting the $5,000 price point. Compared to how the Razz is built, there will be a couple of significant differences in the way this new model is built to get the price down there. I will not compromise on sound quality - this new model will have the Volti Audio sound signature. But I am willing to explore different materials for the cabinet construction and finishes.

Stay tuned, this should be interesting.

2025 Volti Business News

Price increases on our products are taking effect this weekend. I mentioned in the last newsletter that pricing adjustments were forthcoming.

I've been reviewing how much it costs for materials and labor to build our speakers and the cost to operate our business, including payroll for ourselves and our employees. Since our last price increase on our products a few years ago, we have all incurred higher costs for most things.

It's no different here at Volti Audio. It should surprise no one that the cost to build Volti Audio speakers is higher than it was a few years ago. We are simply not making enough money on our products at current pricing.

Tariffs? Nope, not this time around. These price increases are not tariff related. I hope it stays that way. We'll see.

Catch me quick enough and I might be in the right mood to offer a newsletter subscriber pre-price-increase pricing on in-stock Volti speakers. This would include the four pair of Razz that are in production (mahogany, olive ash, natural cherry, and padauk. Don't drag your feet.
