- The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) was pleased to honor Clarence Wilkerson with the 2019 NLBMDA Chairman’s Award. NLBMDA Chair, Bob Sanford surprised Clarence with the award during the ProDealer Award Dinner event on October 8, during the ProDealer Industry Summit in Colorado Springs. Bob praised Clarence for his years of dedicated service and outstanding contributions toward advancing the mission and goals of NLBMDA and the entire lumber and building material industry.
Clarence has been a constant leader in the industry for over thirty-three years. He is deeply passionate about the industry and has spent countless hours supporting NLBMDA, its Federated Partners, Weyerhaeuser, family and community.
He graduated from Florida A&M University with a degree in Business Administration and later attended the University of Wisconsin School Of Business in their Executive program. Clarence began his career with Weyerhaeuser as an intern in 1986. He has received several awards and accolades from Weyerhaeuser, including: Top Team in North America Award, Supply Chain Process Design Improvement Award, and Weyerhaeuser’s PROS Award. He also completed the Weyerhaeuser Leadership Institute program and currently serves as the East Division Manager.
Clarence has been an invaluable member to NLBMDA. He has served as the Chairman of the Manufacturers and Services Council for the past four years, in the role of Vice Chair from 2015-2017 and as MSC Chair from 2017-2019. He also currently serves on the NLBMDA Investment Oversight Committee, Board of Directors, and the Strategic Sustainability Task Group.
An advocate of lifetime-learning, Clarence serves as a mentor to many and has a passion for supporting at-risk youths. He is deeply committed to his community through his role as Vice President for the Jacksonville chapter of 100 Black Men.
He is a loving husband to his wife, Joya, and devoted father to their 12 year old son, Jaylen.
