WASHINGTON, DC -
The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) released today the 2020 National Policy Agenda, a comprehensive advocacy agenda for 2020, which outlines important policy priorities for the lumber and building material industry that will boost the housing and construction industry and support continued job creation across the U.S. economy.
"Congress has a great opportunity in 2020 to advance pro-growth policies that will spur job creation and mitigate the effects of unnecessarily costly regulations that unreasonably burden dealers," said Jonathan Paine, President & CEO of NLBMDA. "LBM dealers are vital to the residential and commercial housing sector and a thriving economy. This agenda will guide policymakers to support policies that ensure laws and regulations are reasonable and cost effective, and ensure dealers are able to support the nation’s economic growth for 2020 and in years to come."
The 2020 NLBMDA National Policy Agenda is divided into nine different policy areas:
- Housing & Construction;
- Tax & Economic Policy;
- Legal Reform & Consumer Protection;
- Workforce Policy;
- Environment, Health & Safety;
- Product Supply & Trade;
- Energy;
- Transportation; and
- Fleet Safety
