In partnership with
Networks Northwest
(NW Reg 2) and
Target Alpena
(NE Reg 3) the
Northern Lakes Economic Alliance
will facilitate $2,011,306 in business grants in the NLEA service area. Within our area, the NLEA will work closely with area chambers, DDA’s, Main Street programs, the Industrial Association and other organizations to promote the opportunity. This is part of the state-wide MI Small Business Restart Program.
Beginning July 15 applications for the MSBRP Grant awards will be accepted by the MEDC. There will be a single, statewide application for the Michigan Small Business Restart Program that runs through August 5, 2020. Applicants can apply for up to $20,000 in grant funds. Businesses and nonprofits with 50 or fewer employees, worldwide, located in Michigan who have NOT received a grant under the Michigan Small Business Relief Program (MSBRP) are eligible to apply.
Additionally, at least 30 percent of the funds awarded under this program will be provided to women-owned, minority-owned or veteran-owned eligible businesses. The MEDC anticipates that more than 5,000 businesses across the state will benefit from this program.
*All applicants are required to have a Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) account to apply for the MSBRP grant.
If you do not have a PMBC Connect Space account, you will be guided through the process of creating one as part of your application. There is no charge for creating a PMBC Connect Space account. If you have any questions related to creating or accessing a PMBC Connect Space account, please email
