President’s Report
Since the last meeting of Provincial Executive, the President has participated in several events and attended meetings in his capacity as President, including a Teacher Allocation Review Committee meeting, Teacher Recruitment and Retention Committee meeting and an Education Accord Advisory Committee meeting. The President also participated in a number of media interviews, including providing commentary on the Education Accord Interim Report and the recently released CTF Parachute Survey. Association Priorities
Updates on the NLTA Priorities for 2023-25 were provided to the Provincial Executive and Branch Presidents for review, questions and comment. The priorities are: Workload Concerns; Membership Well-being and Protection; Collective Bargaining and Services for Members; Retention, Recruitment and Resources; and, Advocacy on and Response to Government Initiatives. Business from Standing Committees
Table Officers
The NLTA will donate $2,000 to Celtic Fiddlers to support publication of three teaching resource books based on their CDs.

Electoral Committee
· The ballots for the 2024 province-wide vote for President and Vice-President will be destroyed.
· The following policy change has been approved: V. Election of President and Vice-President by Province-wide Vote, 1. Procedures for Conducting the Election, n) Publicity, i) was amended. The amended policy can be viewed here.

Professional Issues Committee
The NLTA will explore the creation of a fund for in-province Professional Development similar to the fund that currently exists for out-of-province Professional Development.

Other Business
· The NLTA Collective Bargaining Committee will be based at 3 Kenmount Road, St. John’s and be comprised as follows: Darryl George, Chair, Crescent Collegiate; Marie Chantal Hurley, CSFP; Sean Walsh, Baltimore School; Alison Green, St Andrews Elementary; Tara Reid, St Matthews School; Morgan Kearley, Ascension Collegiate; and, Jillian Ball, MacDonald Drive Elementary.
· The NLTA will seek assurances and clarification from the employer that all necessary steps have been taken to minimize risk for identity fraud in all systems used by employees.
· The NLTA, through Provincial Executive Table Officers, will conduct an independent internal review of an ongoing grievance and arbitration case.

BGM 2025
Provincial Executive received an update on BGM 2025 planning, including reviewing the agenda and highlighting upcoming important deadlines. BGM 2025: Fighting for Change will take place April 22-25 in St. John’s.
