Dear Members,

Your Association understands that members and the public in general are experiencing a lot of anxiety right now. There is uncertainty around the path forward, not just in the Education system, but throughout the province. Teachers are planners, of necessity and by nature, so may be particularly impacted by not knowing for sure what comes next.

Please know that the NLTA continues to work on your behalf during these trying times, advocating and making every effort to influence decisions on matters of importance to the membership. Association staff have been in regular and consistent contact with Department of Education and the school district officials, and these efforts will continue. We have been advised that NLESD will be communicating more details late this afternoon.

Individual inquiries should be directed to NLTA Programs and Services via These messages are checked regularly and forwarded to appropriate staff for replies. If you would like an Administrative Officer to phone you, please include the best number for reaching you in your email.

For updated information regarding COVID-19, please refer to As well, please check your email regularly for important messages from your Association on this and other matters.

The NLTA will continue to update members through various means with information as it becomes available.

Stay safe,
