The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) is seeking nominations of individuals for election to 2 Senior Director positions, 2 Resident Physician Director positions, and 1 Medical Student Director position on its Board of Directors. Select skills the NRMP Board will be evaluating among nominees include:
Senior Directors -
- Significant career in GME-related position
- Breadth and depth of experience dealing with GME-related issues
- GME scholarship, local GME leadership, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership role(s) in national medical education organization(s)
- Prior involvement with the NRMP Matching Program
Resident Physician Directors –
**One must be a graduate of an osteopathic medical school**
**One must be a graduate of an international medical school**
- Demonstrated leadership (student government, medical organization leadership, chief resident)
- Demonstrated scholarly productivity (medical education publications, presentations, etc.)
- Understanding of the GME application and matching process, including applying to, interviewing with, and ranking programs in the NRMP
- Resident or fellow through term of appointment
- Capable of fulfilling fiduciary responsibility to Board
Medical Student Director -
- Demonstrated academic leadership (student government, medical organization leadership)
- Demonstrated scholarly productivity (medical education publications, presentations, etc.)
- Student through term of appointment
- Capable of fulfilling fiduciary responsibility to Board
If your organization wishes to submit nominations, each nomination packet must include
- Nominator’s email address
- Nominee’s curricula vitae or resume (15 pages maximum) including nominee’s email address
- Letter(s) of support/recommendation. NRMP will accept up to three letters of support/recommendation.
- For Resident Physicians: One must be from a program director, program chair, or DIO
- For Medical Students: One must be from a dean of student affairs or academic affairs
