National Medical Association Region V will host its 2nd Annual Bayou Classic Health Equity Town Hall, Friday, November 25, 2022 during the 49th Annual Bayou Classic in New Orleans. The Bayou Classic celebrates the rich heritage and achievements of America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This football classic between Southern University and Grambling State University is broadcast nationally on November 26, 2022, by the NBC Television Network. Bayou Classic events include the Fan Festival, Greek Show/Battle of the Bands, Parade, and a host of integrated events designed to support the schools. 


The Health Equity Town Hall will address topics such as the impact of COVID-19 in health equity, mental health and maternal health. The location of the event will be held at The Shop, 900 Camp Street, 3rd Floor, New Orleans, LA, at 4:00 PM. 


The NMA Region V members and partners will also participate in the Bayou Classic Parade and Fan Fest at Champion Square.
