MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS
NMA Celebrates 15 Years!

Over our 15 years, we have become a sustainable, viable association and we are proud that we are the strongest and most effective manufacturers’ association in Eastern Ontario. We could not have done it without your membership and support, collaboration and dedication you all provide.
We have developed strategic partnerships with industry, government and community stakeholders, to move our mission and vision forward. To ensure our manufacturing sector thrives, we have worked closely with regional manufacturing associations, Northumberland CFDC, local community economic development offices and chambers of commerce. We have also partnered with universities, colleges and training centres to educate and build a strong regional workforce.
We encourage you to join us over the year as we have the opportunity to reflect on our achievements and the amazing work we have completed together through our 15 years in Northumberland County.
NMA HR Focus Group
On Feb 5, our manufacturing HR professionals met for a roundtable discussion. We looked at successes in 2018 and our current & upcoming challenges for 2019. The roundtable proved to be an excellent opportunity to share best practices, provide support and have a couple laughs, as participants searched for solutions to help everyone.
From the meeting, we've created a workshop topic and idea that we'd like to share with the membership as a whole. More information on that coming soon!

We have decided to host our HR focus group roundtable every 2 months - we hope you can join us next time. Save the Date - Tuesday April 9, 9am-10am.
Here we Grow!
Please join us in welcoming new NMA members. We encourage you to reach out to your associate members and learn how they can help you save, grow and buy local.

ADVOCACY
Online training will save Ontario businesses approximately $5,000,000
Ontario's government is working for the people to reduce burdens on job creators, as well as workers by improving training programs that certify those who promote health and safety at workplaces.
These changes mean 50,000 Ontario workplaces no longer need to send workers for a five-day classroom course. By cutting red tape, Minister Scott is providing flexibility by making online courses fully available to Ontario businesses, reducing the time needed to take the first part of the course. Learn more HERE
