Be Patient, Be Kind, Be Respectful Campaign

The New Mexico Hospitality Association (NMHA), in collaboration with the New Mexico Restaurant Association (NMRA) and the Jennifer Riordan Foundation (Foundation), have joined together with a campaign to ask the public to be patient, kind and respectful when dealing with hospitality and restaurant staff.

Many hotels and restaurants across the country, including in New Mexico, are dealing with staff shortages or are training new employees which may result in longer wait times and, sometimes, frustrated customers. The “Be Kind” campaign encourages guests to exercise patience, kindness and respect when patronizing hotels or restaurants.

You can download "Be Patient" posters for your business here.

The History of Hospitality
in New Mexico -

As far back as 1949, the New Mexico Hotel Association has been working with education partners to train hospitality professionals and provide workplace and career opportunities.

We're so fortunate to have amazing educational institutions in our state that work tirelessly to educate and train the next generation of hospitality professionals. If you're not familiar with the amazing programs they support, take the time to see what New Mexico State University, Central New Mexico Community College, and Santa Fe Community College are doing with their hospitality and culinary programs!

New Mexico Redistricting -
Every ten years, New Mexico goes through the redistricting process. This process impacts school boards, city councils, water districts and more. How officials are elected has a direct impact on your business. Throughout the month of August, the Citizen Redistricting Committee will regularly meet around the state to draw new district maps for the state. Public input is allowed, and we urge you to take the time to participate in the meeting in your area and make sure that your business interests are heard.
