I hope that you and your family are staying safe and doing well. In the middle on this unprecedented health and social crisis, all of us on the NNCG Steering Committee are thinking of each of you.
This spring edition of our newsletter features the amazing work of our fellow consultants in the NNCG Network and illuminates how the guidance and expertise of philanthropy consultants can provide tremendous support to a range of issues in philanthropy.
You'll have the opportunity to read about a fountain of resources on philanthropy's response to Covid-19, curated by NNCG Member Brittany Kienker of Kienker Consulting LLC. Brittany developed this resource bank for the Council on Michigan Foundations, and the information is available with open access here.
For information on how members can upload work to the Knowledge Center, click here.
Don't forget to check out the newsletter's short feature on our member benefits, by the way! In addition to our partnerships with several regional philanthropy-serving organizations, we have established opportunities for special discounts on great philanthropic resources for our members.
We look forward to being in (virtual) contact soon. Be well!

Presented by Kris Putnam-Walkerly
Did you know that most philanthropists want to change the world, but they get in their own way?
Kris Putnam-Walkerly, global philanthropy advisor and author of
Delusional Altruism: Why Philanthropists Fail To Achieve Change And What They Can Do To Transform Giving (Wiley, March 2020), will share common delusional thoughts and practices that drastically hinder philanthropists from achieving transformational social change. These practices and behaviors can hold funders back during the best of times, and are often magnified during a crisis.
Kris will also explain how consultants can inadvertently contribute to this delusional thinking, and what they can do to help funders transform their giving.
