We hope your year is off to a great start! We are off to a tremendous start getting ready for the year ahead as we wrap up strategic planning, prepare for several events and more! After all that we accomplished together last year, we are filled with hope for what we will accomplish as a Network in 2025.

We hope you'll join us this year for one or multiple events, the first of which being our networking reception at the APA. We are well aware of the tragic situation in Los Angeles and are taking cue from the APA, thus planning on moving forward with the reception this spring, while continuing to monitor the situation. The APA recently released a statement noting they are very hopeful that the conference will still be in LA this year. Look out for more from us on this in the coming weeks!

We've also got a deadline approaching at the end of the month for 2025 Momentum Grants! All grant applications are reviewed by a committee of members from the NNDC Executive Committee, so get your submission in now while there is still time!

There are plenty more events, fundraising updates and interesting conversations below!

Thank you for being a valued member and follower of the National Network of Depression Centers. Let's make this month one of growth, resilience, and above all, kindness toward ourselves and one another.

Thank You for Your Support: Open Minds, Open Doors

Open Minds, Open Doors Fundraising Efforts

Mental illness impacts one in five adults and one in six youth each year in the U.S. That’s why we championed a fundraising campaign aimed at opening the door to more conversation, research and access to care.

With your support, Open Minds, Open Doors: Uniting for Stigma-Free Depression Care for All garnered more than $40,000 in donations towards lifting the burden of depression and bipolar disorder, increasing innovations in treatment and furthering awareness of the stigma that surrounds this issue. We've still got a few donations pending and would like to give a huge thank you to all who supported this effort!

Tools for Coping from the University of Colorado

Social media can be a great tool for connecting with friends and extended family. However, it can also be hard to disconnect from things we may rather not see, like traumatic events, natural disasters, politics and more. While it’s convenient to check every notification and read every headline at our fingertips, it’s probably not the best strategy to care for our mental health.

Here are four things you can do if you’re feeling overwhelmed by social media or current events from the University of Colorado.
