Council-Wide Virtual Roundtable Series

November topic: Cub Scout Retention; Resources and Best Practices

Join us as we provide Resources for your Cub Scout Pack to get back to meeting as a Den and / or Pack.  We will guide you with a series of resources available to you to help you retain and keep your current Cub Scouts! This will be an exciting and engaging presentation filled with the best practices and resources for your unit.

April 9th-11th, 2021: Camp Winnebago
April 24th-25th, 2021: Camp Lewis

**Both weekends are required**

By taking Wood Badge, Scouters will acquire valuable tools such as listening, communicating, conflict management, project planning and leading change. Participants will better learn to understand and appreciate diversity and differences in our society. They will learn skills that will make them a better Scout leader. Units with trained leaders are able to deliver an improved program and a more meaningful experience for the youth Scouting serves.
By attending Wood Badge, the participants will internalize the 5 themes of Wood Badge: Living the Values, Growing, Connecting, Guiding, Empowering.
Northern New Jersey Council Eagle Scout Project of the Year 2020
Attention all Eagle Scouts of the 2020 Northern New Jersey Council Eagle Class

Submissions for the Northern New Jersey Council Eagle Scout project of the year will be accepted until 12/31/2020.  

Please complete the application for the Glenn and Melinda Adams service project of the year.
You will also need to present your Eagle Project Binder for consideration at the Northern New Jersey Council Service Center,  Attn : Billy Cook.

The Winner of the NNJC Council award will them be eligible for consideration at the Regional level and then perhaps National level.

Registration is Open!

Join us for another amazing Virtual Experience.

For only $15 your Wolf, Bear, Webelos, or AOL can work towards earning Nova Wild and/or Science Everywhere.

Tiger Scouts can work towards their Story in Shapes Adventure.

Scouts have from December 21 – January 1 to work at their own pace and complete all the requirements.
Virtual Merit Badge Portal
Don’t fall behind in your advancement! The Virtual Merit Badge Portal allows you to work on Merit Badges from the comfort of your home. Speak with your Scoutmaster/merit badge counselors about online instruction.
Youth Protection Training
Taken Every TWO Years

YPT is required for all leaders to register for the new program/charter year! If you’re expired you would have received an email reminder to accomplish your training.

Youth Protection training provides parents and leaders with resources for the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Venturing, and Sea Scouting, Exploring, and STEM Scouts programs. The training is done online at and must be renewed every two years or whenever an adult changes leadership positions.
All registered adult members of the Boy Scouts of America must be current in Youth Protection Training.
  1. Go to (note the “dot” between “my” and “scouting”) and create an account.
  2. From, click on the Youth Protection Training logo on the right corner of the screen (or select “My Dashboard” from the “Home” navigation in the upper left corner).
  3. You should see options to take Youth Protection training. If not, select “YPT” from the menu at the top of the screen.
  4. Upon completion, print a certificate of completion and keep with your records.
  5. A copy of your certificate of completion is required any time you submit a new membership application.
You have heard the saying “All Scouts deserve a trained leader”. Well, “All trained leaders deserve to be recognized”. The Volunteer Development Team at Scouting U has created a new look and more steam-lined version of all the Volunteer Training Awards.

Scouting asks a lot of you-the volunteer-and we want to recognize your time and talents will proper recognition. We took a long hard look at all the different training awards and worked towards delivering a more user- friendly application while keeping the requirements consistent and meaningful.
