From the desk of Chuck Chadwick -
Recent events have brought up the subjects of both security and safety at Christian ministries.
On the front line of security, it is the shootings. Whether it be the Michigan church where a church deacon ran over the shooter with his truck or Kentucky church where a man killed two and injured several more. I’m not rehashing the details here, just that shootings are among the most common drastic security events churches need to prepare for.
On the Safety front, it is the emergency preparedness measures needed for Christian ministries like the camp Mystic campground tragedy.
Both types of tragedies bring attention to the measures that can help mitigate the loss of life in both types of events.
In my more than forty years of professional work in security and safety I have heard a lot of less than stellar advice from well-meaning people.
At year’s conference I will be highlighting not only security measures, but also safety measures that can help Christian ministries in these areas.
Safety and Security is not just about guys with guns. We will be talking about the not so glamorous aspects of these areas of church administration.
Hope to see you there!
