News from the NODCC
Help Support the NODCC Fall Fundraiser:
Sept. 22-Oct. 31

The first day of fall is September 22 – the perfect day to kick off our Fall Fundraiser! This online fundraiser is our organization’s most important fundraising drive of the year thanks to amazing support from families we’ve received over the years. In the last 9 years, individuals and families have helped raise more than $136,600 through online and offline donations during our Fall Fundraiser!
Since 2011, donations to the Fall Fundraiser have helped support the operations of the organization and have funded programs including  DCC Conferences, website updates and maintenance, videos explaining DCC, translation of ACC & Me book to 12 languages, attendance and education at neurology medical conferences and personal response and outreach to families through phone calls and emails.
With your support, we can continue to fund the work to support people living with a DCC through education and advocacy. In addition to our existing programs, the NODCC is working to create a global patient registry that will be the standardized platform to collect information on the DCC community to be used by researchers. We need your generous contributions to fund these programs.
From September 22 through October 31, there are 3 ways to get involved in our Fall Fundraiser:
 1.      Set up a Facebook Fundraiser to benefit the NODCC: It’s easier than ever to raise money online thanks to platforms like Facebook that incorporate fundraising and donations directly to the site. Click on “Fundraisers” from your personal Facebook page menu, click “Select Nonprofit” and search for the National Organization for Disorders of the Corpus Callosum.
2.      Join our team and create a personal page on Mighty Cause: Create your own personal fundraising story and page as part of our 2020 Fall Fundraiser Team. We use Mighty Cause (formerly Razoo) because organizations keep 98.6% of donations – the lowest processing fees of online platforms. Connect to our team page here and select Join this Team to get started:
3.      Donate directly through Make donations directly through our website and share the link to others through email or social media to encourage your network to support the organization. All online donations through our site from Sept. 22-Oct. 31 will be counted toward the Fall Fundraiser.
Please help support the NODCC – the only organization in the U.S. focused on disorders of the corpus callosum – through our Fall Fundraiser! For questions or more information, reach out to the NODCC Office at

Family Highlight: A Grandmother's Journey with her Grandson

With Grandparents Day falling during September, we wanted to recognize the special role that grandparents and extended family play in the lives of their loved ones. We launched a new Grandparents and Extended Family of the NODCC group on Facebook to help connect extended family members to other grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and more -- all who love someone with a disorder of the corpus callosum. Share the page with loved ones in your family who want to get connected.
In our Family Highlight this month, hear from a grandmother, Trecia, who helps support her grandson, Joel, who has complete agenesis of the corpus callosum. Trecia offers advice for grandparents based on her own experiences: “throw out the window any preconceived notions you have about how children should be parented.” Click HERE to read Trecia’s story on our blog.
If you are interested in sharing your story, register for your free NODCC account today to submit your story and become part of our NODCC story collection.
