Mission:
NOMA is a grassroots effort driven by employers to identify issues surrounding workforce in manufacturing and take a lead in implementing change. Through meaningful partnerships, NOMA works with educators, community partners, and economic development organizations to promote manufacturing as a career of choice.

A huge thank you to Rebecca Singer, President & CEO of the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT), for hosting the third quarter NOMA Membership Meeting at the Northwest Ohio Cooperative Kitchen (NOCK) on Friday, September 16, 2022. Rebecca provided a tour and explained the center's valuable resources that are available to entrepreneurs and manufacturers.
Kip Winzeler, COO of Altenloh, Brinck & Co. U.S. Inc. and NOMA Chair, discussed the key NOMA principles. During his comments, he emphasized the importance of the need for "committed individuals, willing to invest their time and talent for the cause."

The NOMA Tiger Team led by Cassie Palsgrove, Ohio Department of Education, and her team, led manufacturers, schools and community partners to identify key manufacturing needs, barriers, assets, opportunities, and commitments that produce results. We look forward to sharing the action plan with you at our December membership meeting.

Regional Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (RAMP) – AMT Apprenticeship Virtual Discussion

Join Quinton Roberts from Owens Community College virtually THIS Thursday to help develop an employer driven training program that blends classroom instruction with onsite work experience, also known as a RAMP-AMT Apprenticeship. Graduates of this program will receive an Associate of Technical Studies in Applied Engineering.

Held annually on the first Friday in October with events that continue throughout the month, MFG Day—Manufacturing Day, organized nationally by The Manufacturing Institute helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders.

EDA Good Jobs Challenge Grant
NOMA is part of a $23.5 million grant awarded to the Ohio Manufacturers' Association for a 3-year workforce development action plan focused on recruiting and upskilling underrepresented manufacturing workers across the state.

Northwest Ohio Pilot Project Celebrates $2.9 Million Investment to Expand Manufacturing
This new financial commitment is combined with a previous JobsOhio investment of $1.5 million to pay for equipment and software for the Penta Career Center, Apollo Career Center, Vantage Career Center, Vanguard-Sentinel Career & Tech Center, Northwest State Community College, and Owens Community College.
This project will generate a direct pipeline between advanced manufacturing talent and the companies that need a skilled workforce. A full-time recruitment partner who will assist job seekers on behalf of employers and training institutions, matching them with local job opportunities in manufacturing, training opportunities at six regional education providers, and/or additional support services found through Ohio’s workforce development system.
