About Lusitania Consulting

The National Organization of Portuguese Americans (NOPA) received funding from a private donor to implement a social enterprise program, Lusitania Consulting, LLC with the mission to:

  • Assist businesses and entrepreneurs from Portugal and Portuguese speaking countries with discounted marketing, communications, and public affairs services
  • Provide mentorship opportunities to young entrepreneurs by working with seasoned industry professionals
  • Donate proceeds from revenue to the Portuguese American community by supporting local schools and social programs

By definition, a social enterprise is a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximize profit for shareholders and owners.

Lusitania serves as a strategic consulting group that is uniquely positioned to provide Portuguese businesses with a full spectrum of marketing and consulting services towards cross promotional needs. The group is also capable to assist with corporate branding and communication campaigns while providing government relations support, and create connections for the Portuguese export market in the United States and facilitate opportunities for American investors seeking to do business in Portugal using innovative, strategic and proactive approaches adapted to the realities of the product, service and target segments. Lusitania mission also includes offering its services to Portuguese speaking countries such as Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, So Tom and Prncipe, and to other markets, on case by case situations.

To pursue its purpose, Lusitania is open to collaborate with independent professionals from all the industries that identify with its mission and are eager to contribute with their knowledge and passion to help Portuguese established and start-up businesses become visible and successful in North America. Lusitania also collaborates with Portuguese government business-related agencies on their work to address current economic challenges.
