NORA adds
Online Testing for
Silver & Bronze Certifications
The National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) now offers the test required for both
Bronze and
Silver Certified Technicians certifications online through its education website
Learning.NORAweb.org.
The online test provides immediate grading and certification to those that pass, unlike the paper format where it may take weeks for the student/tech to learn of their result. The online test also eliminates ordering
the paper test sheets, "bubble" answer sheets and the need to return those to NORA for grading. NORA is transitioning between the two systems, so your use of this system and comments are particularly useful.
The online test can be administered in
any facility where students/techs have online access (computer, laptop or tablet). Or, the test can be taken
online by the student outside the school setting using NORA online proctor option.
Additionally, the online test allows NORA to "drill-down" into the test data to evaluate results such as:
- Which questions are consistently scoring lower than the average
- What are the passing rates for individual schools or instructors
- Which topics are receiving unsatisfactory grades
These allow NORA and its teaching partner institutions to continually refine and upgrade the curriculum and tests to ensure the most qualified technicians are working in the field.
