I'm gonna love this hat!

Dusty pink is a favorite color for me. I put aside a ball that's just that color about a year ago.

Then I paired it with a super wash gray in a worsted weight that I knew would work good in our newest hat pattern, Striped Helical Beanie Hat.

Here's the result of my knitting -- a close-to-the-head beanie that covers my ears and forehead.

A beanie like this isn't particularly stylish. It won't win any fashion awards. But when those chilly winds blow from the north, this is the kind of hat to reach for.

Color info -- the dusty pink yarn and the gray yarn are not available. Both are discontinued.

The multicolor yarn is Edition 3, a DK weight that would work well as the second yarn in this pattern.

For a worsted weight main color, look at Grey Heather in Nature Spun worsted.

Here's a blog post that gives more information! Read how I substituted a DK yarn for a worsted yarn and got good results.

Here's a dose of fall color! That purple red plays well with the gold and yellow in this grouping of autumn skeins. The yarn is Simplicity by Hikoo, a buttery soft DK weight yarn.
