NOTICE: Library Reopening Plan
The Edgewater Library plans to reopen to the public on Monday, May 17 for appointment-based visits at a limited capacity.
What physical services will be available?

At this point in time, we are only able to offer browsing and borrowing services at 20-minute intervals.

Up to 7 patrons may be admitted into the library per session. The Juvenile department may only admit 2 people at a time. This includes children and their parent/caregiver.

Patrons must be at least 14 years old to enter without supervision.

Please note that the computers, physical programming, the study space and seating will not be available.The restrooms will also not be open for use, so please plan accordingly before your visit.
Admittance is by appointment over the phone only

Please call the library at 201-224-6144 to set up an appointment ahead of time.

When making an appointment, you must specify if you wish to visit the Juvenile department.
Hours

Monday to Thursday: 11:00AM to 7:00PM
Friday: 11:00AM to 5:00PM
Saturday: 11:00AM to 4:00PM
Please know that your safety and the safety of our staff is our utmost priority right now. So that everyone can enjoy the library in a safe manner, the following policies are currently in effect.
Before you enter

The library may only be entered from the side entrance door located down the driveway of the building and exited from the front doors located upstairs.

  • If you are feeling sick or are in quarantine, please do not come to the library

  • Anyone over the age of two entering the building must wear a mask at all times. Masks must cover the nose as well as the mouth. Hands, lace/mesh masks, face shields, shirts and other items of clothing DO NOT count as masks.

  • Your temperature will be taken at the entrance as a safety precaution. No temperatures will be recorded. If your temperature reads over 100.0°F, you will not be admitted to the library.

  • Patrons will be asked to sanitize hands upon entering at the side entrance door. Optional gloves will be provided by the library; please do not bring your own.Gloves may be disposed upon exiting.
Inside the library

  • Please observe 6 feet of social distancing inside the library and follow signage.

  • There will be no seating provided. Please do not bring your own.

  • Once you are ready to go, you may check out materials at the newly installed self-service MeeScan Check-Out kiosks located throughout the library.

  • Please be sure to observe the 20 minute time limit for each session. A reminder will be announced over the internal paging system five minutes in advance.
