There will be extended work hours and potential Saturday work requiring single lane closures on Live Oak Drive (with flagging operation to alternate traffic) to perform the following work:
Overnight installation of the noise wall adjacent to Live Oak Drive on the ramp from the westbound George Washington Memorial Parkway to southbound I-495 Express Lanes; and
Replacement of the current approximately 528-foot section of concrete jersey barrier in the vicinity of Green Oak Drive with water-filled barrier.
Flaggers directing one-way traffic
on Live Oak Drive (October 2024)
The lane closure is required to ensure public safety by maintaining a safe distance between the elevated adjacent work and Live Oak Drive. The extended hours are necessary to keep the project on schedule to open the new express lanes in December 2025
When
Hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dates: Monday through Saturday (if needed) through late November, excluding Thanksgiving Day. No closures will occur from 12 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27 through 12 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2.
What to Expect
Live Oak Drive residents and drivers north of private Live Oak Drive may experience periodic, brief queueing, as flaggers direct one-way traffic in alternating directions. Overnight construction impacts will include noise from cranes lifting noise wall panels and back-up alarms and light from construction vehicles.
