Sarah Hsu, MD, PhD received a 2023 PCF Young Investigator Award for a project, "Defining Mechanisms of AR Transcriptional Regulation to Improve Outcomes in Advanced Prostate Cancer."


Apurva Pandey, PhD received a 2023 PCF Young Investigator Award for a project, "Conditionally Activated Membrane Binding Probes for Improved Targeted Radiotherapy in Metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer."


Noah Younger, MD, PhD received a 2023 PCF Young Investigator Award for a project, "Characterizing cPRC1 as a Mediator of Enzalutamide Resistance in Advanced Prostate Cancer."


Katie Lichter, MD and Henry Litt, MD each received 2023 Quality Care Symposium Merit Awards from the ASCO Conquer Cancer Foundation.


Scarlett Lin Gomez, MPH, PhD received the 2023 Christopher N.H. Jenkins Cancer Control Award.


Jaysón Davidson, a graduate student and member of Butte Lab, received a 2023 Chancellor Award for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership.


Brieze Bell, MD received the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award from the 2022-23 OBGYN residents.


John Muir Health received a $25 million gift from the Hofmann Family Foundation. The donation will establish the "UCSF-John Muir Health Jean and Ken Hofmann Cancer Center” and propel advancements in cancer care, clinical trials, research, and support services. Read more.

Upstream Research Fellowship


Part of the Upstream Research Center, this fellowship aims to develop a diverse cadre of interdisciplinary early-career scholars committed to advancing cancer health equity in persistent poverty areas. Open to post-bacc, graduate, medical, predoctoral, and postdoctoral students or instructors. Apply by Nov 27.

CARE Grant Review Program


Provides HDFCCC faculty with grant review for any multi-year, independent grant (previous only for R01 grants). Participants have two options to choose from:

  1. Submit specific aims for review. Depending on the feedback received, participants can either stop here or go on to submit the full proposal a couple of weeks later.
  2. Submit a complete draft grant proposal (including specific aims) at one time.



You must apply 6-8 weeks before your grant is due. Learn more and apply.
