November is here, and with it a plethora of activities that need to be on your calendar! At Claremont Heritage we are jam-packed with exciting cultural events, bound to stimulate alll of your senses. First off, Saturday Nov. 2nd is the first retrospective of Claremont Artist Mike Hill - over six decades of work from paintings to stained glass to sculpture will be featured. The next day on Sunday, Nov. 3rd FestivArts presented by the Claremont Lewis Museum of Art takes over the Padua Hills Theatre. On Sat Nov. 9th a College Walking Tour, and Thursday, Nov 14 a book-signing and talk by the ever popular David Allen with his latest excursion in the literary world, "Waving at Strangers: A Parade of Daily Bulletin Columns, 2006 - 2010". And then it's December and time for all the Holiday festivities including our Members Only Holiday Celebration on Monday Dec. 2nd an Ikebana workshop by Auralynn Nyugen of Sherwood Florist fame on Saturday, Dec. 7th... We are excited to host the first retrospective exhibition of Claremont-based artist Mike Hill. For over five decades, Hill has masterfully worked with stone, steel, wood, and stained glass, creating sculptures and light fixtures that evoke both strength and grace. This exhibition, Earth & Sky, will showcase a diverse selection of his work, from early paintings to his current wood-carvings, celebrating his artistic journey and contributions to the Claremont art scene.


Join us for an evening of art, inspiration, and community. The event is free and open to all.

The Claremont Lewis Museum of Art is celebrating 20 years of

FestivArts at the historic Padua Hills Theatre with 50% more artists showcasing original works in the beautiful olive grove.


Art show featuring 50+ local artists (ceramics, glass, jewelry, and more) Craft demonstrations and family art activities. Music, festive foods, tacos, fine wines, and craft beers.

The 2 1/2 hour walk will explore the history of The Claremont Colleges from their founding in 1887 (in the town of Pomona!) to today. The walk includes visits to many of the venerated buildings (exteriors only) on the campuses. Special attention is paid to the magnificent architecture and artworks that grace the campuses, with an emphasis on historic Pomona College and beautiful Scripps College. We end back in the “Village,” where you may choose to dine in one of the delicious restaurants that dot the area.

IKEBANA WORKSHOP with Auralynn Nguyen

Auralynn has created amazing Ikebana flower arrangements for our Home Tour home owners the last couple of years (See Karl Benjamin, Harrison McIntosh and this years fabulous Geller home attached) and many of you have asked how Ikebana is done. Well now you can experience it for yourself with a hands-on workshop with Auralynn Nguyen on Saturday, December 7th from 4 - 6 pm at the Ginger Elliott Center at Garner House.

The workshop is open for anyone, regardless of ikebana or floral arrangement experience. You are invited to bring a vessel of your choice (suggested size: minimum 8” tall and 8” long) or use one on loan from the instructor. There will also be a few select vessels by Claremont artists available for sale. LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS - RESERVE YOUR SPOT NOW!

All tools and plant materials provided. No floral foam, chicken wire or kenzan (metal pin holder/flower frog) are necessary. Everyone will have a chance to learn techniques exclusive to Ikebana.
