Hello!

On the 4th, we shared NOVA's new brand with staff and distributed some of our new swag to all of you! If you missed the presentation by Simpatico, they will be doing a presentation for NOVA volunteers this Tuesday, October 19th at 6:30 p.m. via zoom. If you would like to attend, you can register at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUof-2grzIpH9KDzt1fwAKggkO5edbmgFxD

The new brand/logo will be rolled out in the following phases:
10/2 - Board
10/4 - Staff
10/19 - NOVA Volunteers
Mid-November - Long-Term Donors
End of November - Donors and Constituents
Beginning of December - Sponsors and Friends

An official announcement will be made in the beginning of January in coordination with the launch of NOVA's redesigned website.

In addition to the new logo, NOVA's stationary has also been redesigned. This includes things such as letterhead, envelopes, personal and general business cards, name tags, name badges and brochures.

As part of the rebrand, Simpatico will also be creating electronic business cards, QR codes and uniform email signatures for all staff.

In the next few weeks, Sara and I will be reaching out to get information from staff for their name tags, name badges, print and electronic business cards, and email signatures. Keep an eye out for an email!

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please let me know!

Take care,
Angela

Committee Corner:
The Latest and Greatest From Our Committees
NOVA Training Institute, alongside the Staff Development Committee, is hosting a book club meeting Friday, October 29 from 3-4pm via Zoom. This month, the club will be discussing The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas. This book follows sixteen-year-old Star as she grieves over the murder of her childhood best-friend--who was shot by the police. Star navigates prejudice, racism, intimidation and activism as she tries to understand the truth.

This is a great opportunity to read, learn, and engage with colleges and friends. Additionally, participation counts for 6 training hours!

We would love to see you there! Click this flyer to see additional details and to sign up!
Meet the NOVA Team!
Highlighting NOVA Staff and NOVA Board Members
Let's learn more about Kathryn!

Before working at NOVA, what was the most unusual, weirdest or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I used to work in family court and handle the Protection From Abuse Cases in Bucks which was pretty interesting.

Name a famous person that you admire, and maybe even hope to meet someday (unless, of course, you have already met them).
I feel like I have to say Brene Brown here – I think she's on many counselor’s lists!

Fun Fact: I love to read, am married and have a one year old son named Jaxson (featured in the picture above!) and I'm obsessed with my 3 year old dog, Gracie.

Welcome to the team, Kathryn! We are so happy you are here and can't wait to see all that you can contribute.
Let's learn more about Bob!

Bob Hills has been a board member of NOVA for five years. He has served on several committees including finance, public affairs and governance. His wife, Charlene, and he contribute to NOVA financially, and through donations to the Thrift Shop.

They live in Doylestown Borough and have three grown sons, three grandsons and are servants to a very demanding house cat. Bob was a Planned Parenthood board member for fifteen years before volunteering at NOVA. When not with family, he works on his award-winning gardens (below), reading, or on way too many hobbies.

Thanks for all that you bring to the team, Bob!

Octo-purrr Pets!
October Staff Contest
Typically, dogs get all the love in NOVA Newsbites. But, NOVA loves all pets--and this month, we get to show it!

For October's contest, submit a picture of your pet. It's Halloween season, so if you can get your pet in a costume--I'll put your name in the drawing TWICE! (Fall themes are acceptable too.) For example: Check out Otis with his matching pumpkin. Iconic.

Click here to submit you photo! All submissions are due on Thursday, October 28th at 12:00pm. Winner will receive a $25.00 gift card to Pet Supplies Plus!

This week's featured illustrator is Hiller Goodspeed (he/they, @hillergoodspeed)--I chose it in the spirit of Halloween and costumes. Hiller creates many amazing comics and doodles that are real (even if they are a bit squidgy) and recently released a new book called Pond Life. Check out Hiller's many links to see more cool stuff!
