Children’s Protection Policy Plan for Churches
Barna Research group reports that 60% of Christian families choose their church because of the children’s ministry.
*Key concerns for parents regarding children’s ministry:
Safety - Why it’s non-negotiable and how it builds trust with families.
Communication - How consistent, clear communication keeps parents and volunteers aligned.
Connection – Fostering meaningful relationships that help kids feel seen and known.
Welcoming Atmosphere – Creating a space where every child feels at home.
Gospel Foundation – Keeping Jesus at the center of every game, lesson, and moment.
“We’ve all heard the phrase ‘stranger danger’, but the sobering truth is that nearly 90% of child abuse cases involve someone the child already knows and trust. As ministry leaders, it’s our sacred responsibility to ensure that the church is a safe place for every child who walks through the doors.”

Children’s Protection Policy Plan is very important for every church to have in place asap. Some insurance companies will require churches to have a CPP Plan in place in order to provide liability insurance. A CPPP serves to protect children in that it requires a limited background check for everyone who works with children or youth under 18. It also protects your volunteers and your church.
On November 17th LRBA will be hosting a “Safe Kids, Strong Ministry” seminar at Neill's Creek Baptist Church from 10am - 12pm for children’s ministry leaders, church leaders, pastors and staff. This will be led by Kendra Joyner, Children’s Ministry Strategist with NC Baptist. (PLEASE REGISTER HERE).
