Hi Friends!

Welcome to our November Social Dance Newsletter! It's time for some fall fun, with countless opportunities to dance at Glen Echo Park this month.

Swing your partner round the Bumper Car Pavilion with Bumper Car Squares! Thursday, November 6, pick from two beginner lessons: Intro to Square Dancing with caller Will Mentor, or Intro to Flatfoot Dancing taught by a member of Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble. Plus enjoy live music by Stomp Rocket!

Ballroom Time presents their "Second Sunday Afternoon Ballroom Dance" on Sunday, November 9, featuring live music by Night and Day Band. The afternoon starts off with a beginner lesson in slow waltz, followed by live music, a mixer, and some samba line dancing.

In collaboration with Dancing by the Bayou, the Partnership presents a Cajun dance to live music from Dennis Stroughmatt et L'Esprit Creole on Sunday, November 16. Led by fiddle player Dennis Stroughmatt, L'Esprit Creole brings you the sights, stories and sounds of French Creole music from The Illinois Country. We'll start off with a 30-minute Cajun dance lesson (included with the price of admission) with Sharon Schiliro and Michael Hart of Dancing by the Bayou, followed by dancing with the band!

Join us for a Latin Dance Weekend at Glen Echo Park! This special ticket lets you attend both dances at a $5 savings! A Back Room Salsa Night on Friday, November 21 and a Bachata y más dance on Saturday, November 22.

Saturday, November 22, check out a Sarau de Samba in the Ballroom Back Room! Co-presented with EducArte, renowned local Brazilian performers Pablo Regis, André Coelho, and Mariana Triginelli lead this Rio de Janeiro style music and dance event. Each session starts with a beginner dance lesson and is open to people of any skill level, no partner or instruments required.

In addition to our fabulous social dance program, Glen Echo Park also hosts dance classes in a variety of styles at various levels. Registration for Fall & Winter 2025-2026 Classes is open and ongoing. Browse the Mindful Movement & Dance Technique section of the catalog to find classes that introduce you to new styles or improve your dance technique.

Read on to see more Social Dances at the Park this month, including swing, blues, waltz, folk, contra, and lots more! Keep an eye on our Social Dances page to stay up to date with future dances! We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support.

Keep on Dancin',
