November 2017
October was filled with exciting visits by video to many locations in Japan. We visited a cat island, a rabbit island, a fox preserve and the temple deer. We made masks and many origami projects as well as beautiful Koi watercolors. November we will travel to Eritrea and see the beautiful country and handicrafts of the people of Eritrea.
HIGHLIGHTS OF OCTOBER ACTIVITIES

"We Play Together" celebration pizza party.

WE PLAY TOGETHER IN ACTION
Recently a Kindergartner came to Extension and was crying because they missed their mother. Alexavier had them sit at his table and played with them. When Alexavier left, Illiana then continued playing with them. The tears were long gone and they ended up having a fun time at Extension. Good job Alexavier and Illiana.

Our assistant joining us again this year, Nathan Smith , has been sharing his love and incredible knowledge of trains with us in Extension. We have seen several of his videos of his train trips across the country this summer as well as his John Western Railway display that he is continuing to upgrade at his home. We hope to have him bring in several of his trains to share with the children soon.
The John Western Railway is a steam powered backyard G scale garden railway that was built by Extension helper Nathan Smith. It is being built up with new features that are added every week. The railway is open to the public on certain days. If you like to arrange a visit to the railway contact Nathan Smith at  714 272 3203  for more information.
