AFTER SCHOOL KIDS TENNIS CLUBS ACROSS ROCKINGHAM COUNTY
With help from a USTA NC "Widen the Base" grant, RC Tennis volunteer coaches are criss-crossing the county to introduce the game of tennis at after school Kids Tennis Clubs and Fitness Clubs.  Check out more photos on Facebook from RCS elementary schools  (Bethany, Huntsville, Lincoln, Monroeton, New Vision, Wentworth, Williamsburg), Bridge Street Rec Center and the Boys and Girls Club of Eden.
"PLAY BALL:  Tennis Takes Off at Local Elementaries" Rockingham County is in the news!
Georgianna Penn, feature writer for the Greensboro News&Record, joined RC Tennis Executive Director Shelby Rhyne for a Rockingham County "tennis tour" in early October.  She visited the PE classes at South End Elementary School in Reidsville and the new playground courts at Williamsburg Elementary.  Click here to read her feature article from the October 11 Rockingham Sunday section.

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS TEAM advances in post-season play
For the first time in Rockingham County High School history, the Lady Cougars Tennis team qualified for 2015 Dual Team Tennis State Playoffs. Winning a close match against Corinth Holders 5-4, Coach Lanier and the team travelled to Rocky Mount NC for their second round match on Monday, October 26.  View the 2015 Womens Dual Team Tennis 3A bracket for results here.  Lady Cougars finished the 2015 season with a12-2 record overall, 7-1 in conference play.  Congratulations, Lady Cougars!  

Team members:  Sarah Cochran, Mary Luking, Hailey Rizza, Ally Gagnon, Zoe Priddy, Anna Luking, Emily Holmes and Ainsley Butler.   P.s. Three of these players helped with for our Summer 2015 Kids Tennis Clubs and played in our Spring 2015 Junior Team Tennis matches.

FREE AFTER SCHOOL KIDS TENNIS CLUB MEETS AT BRIDGE STREET REC CENTER 
Bring your young players to the courts at Bridge Street Recreation Center in Eden to give tennis a try at our after school Kids Tennis Club.   Children age 6-12 are welcome.  Equipment is provided and no tennis experience is required.  

Join us on Thursday, November 19 from 3-4pm on the courts or in the gym at 319 Bridge Street.  Create and account and register to attend on www.youthtennis.com so we'll expect you.

THIRTY-TWO NEW YOUTH TENNIS COURTS ARE COMING TO PLAYGROUNDS NEAR YOU!
Thanks to a free USTA Line Grant, THIRTY-TWO new youth tennis courts (18x36 feet) are coming to blacktops and playgrounds across Rockingham County.

Quality Seal Coating & Sports Surfaces will begin striping the courts in November on the play grounds at Bethany, Huntsville, Lincoln, Monroeton Elementary Schools, Holmes Middle School, Boys and Girls Club of Eden and the parking lot of the new community center at the Salvation Army in Reidsville.
