Poster Entries Due May 19th, 2023

May is Stroke Awareness Month, and AtlantiCare is hosting our 2nd annual art contest for elementary, middle, and high schools to help spread awareness in the community on signs and symptoms of stroke, and the importance of accessing the right care immediately.


Guidelines:

  1. All submissions should be made on a 8 ½" x 11" sized paper or poster board. It can be a drawing, painting, or any creative artwork of your choice! Digital artwork is acceptable.
  2. All submissions must have student's full name, classroom teacher's name, school name, and grade on the back.
  3. Posters must follow this year's theme of "Be a Stroke Hero."
  4. Poster must contain original drawing or artwork.
  5. Poster must answer one of the following questions:
  • What are the signs and symptoms of a stroke?
  • What are the risk factors for stroke?


Timeline For Entering:

  • Posters will be collected in-person on Friday, May 19th by the AtlantiCare Stroke Team or Healthy Schools Team
  • Please include on the back of all poster submissions the student’s name, teacher's name, grade, and school.
  • Winners will be announced by Tuesday May 23rd and notified via email
  • Winners will also be presented in-person by the Stroke Team with their prizes at an arranged date/time.


Winners and Prizes

  • There will be a 3 top student winner per grade group for a total of 9 student winners overall. Each winner will receive a gift card plus an AtlantiCare swag bag. The winning artworks will be displayed in one of our stroke units at AtlantiCare! The following grade groups are as follows:
  • Grades 1-4
  • Grades 5-8
  • Grades 9-12
  • There will also be 1 classroom winner per grade group for a total of 3 class winners overall. The classes with the most submissions will win a pizza party! The grade groups are as follows:
  • Grades 1-4
  • Grades 5-8
  • Grades 9-12
