Pursuant to President Biden's Presidential Memorandum on Jan 26, 2021, executive departments and agencies have been tasked with submitting a detailed plan for implementing Executive Order 13175 and have scheduled tribal consultation to obtain tribal input on strengthening and improving the tribal consultation policy and process.
FY 2022 Appropriations has released instructions on submitting tribal witness testimony for the FY 2022 budget.  All testimony is due by Apr 16, 2021. Instructions
S. 796. Protecting Moms Who Serve Act. Codifies maternity care coordination programs at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes. Calls for the first-ever comprehensive study on the scope of America's maternal health crisis among women Veterans-with a focus on racial and ethnic disparities on maternal health outcomes-while also supporting maternal care coordination programs at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities. Invests $15 million in maternity care coordination programs. Commissions a comprehensive study on maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity among Veterans, with a focus on racial and ethnic disparities in maternal health outcomes.

H.R. 1976 Medicare for All introduced by Pramila Jayapal (D-WA).

H.R. 1939 Legislation to allocate $2.6 billion in funding to the Indian Health Service (IHS) Sanitation Facilities Construction Program to construct and improve multiple critical sanitation projects across Indian Country.

H.R. 1888 Requiring100% FMAP for Indian Health Providers, including Urban Indian Organizations, and extending the Medicaid Encounter Rate for services furnished by a tribal health facility outside the "4 walls" of that facility.  
H.R. 1848 Leading Infrastructure For Tomorrow's America (LIFT) Act Includes $5b for Indian health facilities planning, design, and construction, $6b for public health infrastructure, and $80b for high-speed broadband internet infrastructure ($500m tribal set-aside).

Office of the Inspector General has announced that they will be auditing the Indian Health Service COVID-19 vaccine policies and procedures for COVID-19 vaccines distributed to Tribal Health Programs. The audit period is Dec 11, 2020 - Feb 28, 2021.

CMS Updates Vaccine ToolkitCMS updates COVID-19 vaccine toolkit which includes: increased vaccine administration reimbursement rate of $40 for Medicare, updates to coverage, and cost sharing under Medicaid, CHIP, and BHP.
