The 20th Anniversary of Amerithrax - Letters containing Bacillus anthracis spores on Sept 18th, 2001

In September, NPHL staff recall the bioterrorism events after 9/11 known as Amerithrax, where 22 individuals developed anthrax from letters laced with the weaponized form of Bacillus anthracis. Eleven individuals developed cutaneous anthrax and 11 others contracted the inhalational type of anthrax (5 died) when spores were inhaled. Read the full story of what happened in that event.
