NPHS Awarded $1 Million to Advance Innovative Affordable Housing Solutions in San Bernardino

Funding Will Support the Sustainable Communities Catalyst Project

At the site of NPHS' Gateway Demonstration Factory-Built housing site, Congressman Pete Aguilar announced $1 Million to support NPHS' Sustainable Communities Catalyst Project. This funding comes from the Congressman's Community Project Funding request to bring more investments to further affordable housing and revitalization in our region, especially in the City of San Bernardino.

The Sustainable Catalyst Project is an initiative deeply rooted in collaboration, social innovation, and equity to drive more affordable homeownership and investments into the City of San Bernardino. The recently announced funding will bolster and support NPHS' Catalyst Project and its efforts in revitalizing neighborhoods and promoting sustainable homeownership by developing factory-built housing on vacant lots throughout the City of San Bernardino.

On behalf of the many families that this investment will significantly lift, NPHS would like to thank Congressman Pete Aguilar and his continued support to developing homeownership and building equity throughout the Inland Empire.

Celebrating Small Business Month

NPHS Helps Jump Start Mobile Mechanic Business

Small businesses form the sturdy foundation of economies worldwide, significantly contributing to employment, innovation, and overall economic growth. As we embrace Small Business Month, it is an exceptional occasion to acknowledge, celebrate, and raise awareness about the many small businesses thriving in our communities. These businesses are often revered as the lifeblood of our localities, rendering vital support and services. By bolstering their endeavors, we fortify this essential pillar within our communities.

James Martinez, with a profound experience of over 18 years in the automotive industry, was primed to embark on his journey of establishing a mobile mechanic business. Initially honing his skills while employed by various companies, Mr. Martinez recognized a small business opportunity aligned with his expertise and aspirations. However, he faced the obstacle of securing startup capital, encountering difficulties when approaching traditional banks for a loan.

"I was in dire need of capital to launch my own business, yet securing a loan from a bank proved to be an arduous task," shared Mr. Martinez. At this crucial juncture, he discovered the Microenterprise Collaborative Website, leading him to invaluable information provided by NPHS.

Recognizing the potential and ambition within Mr. Martinez's vision, NPHS extended its support through the PIVOT Small Business Micro Loan Program, providing him with $15,000 to jumpstart his Mobile Mechanic Business. While NPHS played a pivotal role in assisting Mr. Martinez with the realization of his entrepreneurial dreams, he has since become an advocate for their services, directing his peers seeking small business loans to the organization.

Factory-Built Single-Family and ADUs Available Through Homes by NPHS, LLC

Today’s factory-built Single-Family Homes and ADUs are handcrafted in dedicated home-building facilities, staffed, and supervised by professional teams in a secure environment. Homes are built indoors (meaning no weather delays) and factories allow for a greater degree of quality control for each home built. These facilities can build homes in a much faster and more cost-effective way than traditional home builders, meaning less cost for your new home.

Advances in offsite construction housing technology have made factory-built homes a more appealing homeownership option on many levels. This innovation offers customizable, energy-efficient, quality homes built faster, less expensive, and constructed using environmentally friendly building techniques.

These major advances make the access and construction of these homes more readily available and accessible to the everyday homebuyer and homeowner. NPHS is taking advantage of these modern innovations, and connecting homeowners to an array of stylish and affordable factory-built single-family homes and designer ADU cottages.
