Hello Everyone,

And just like that, we approach the last month of the year. I don't know about you, but I feel like 2024 has flown by! And just like in past years, we have a lot packed into December.

However, I begin this email reminding everyone we will be closed on Thanksgiving as well as closing early the day before. We are open Friday, November 29 but please call ahead in case activities have been canceled.

We begin December with our Annual Appeal kicking off on Giving Tuesday which is December 3 this year. A separate email is being sent outlining our donation drive. We also will have letters available for pick up at the Senior Center. Thank you for your continued support.

Also on December 3, the Park District will be performing a Dance Recital for us at 2pm. We hope you will join us for this lovely little event. Continuing that first week we are hosting an AARP Driver Safety class on Wed/Fri from 9am-1pm (there are a couple spots left if interested) and additionally on Friday, December 6, members of the Norwood Park Historical Society will be giving a Lunch & Learn presentation on their new book "Norwood Park, A View from the Ridge".

Other special events in December include a Podiatry Discussion "Putting your Best Feet Forward" arranged by our friends at Norwood Crossing on Tuesday, December 10 and a Little Dresses for Africa sewing day on Wednesday, December 11 from 8:30-3pm. We are also doing a special Sound Bath Stress Relief Meditation ($2pp) following yoga on December 11. Space is limited for this unique experience.

Since the Holidays are upon us we will be celebrating with multiple events including a special City lunch which will include our amazing Ukulele players leading a Christmas Carol sing-a-long and our main event happening on Friday, December 20 for our Holiday Thrift/Bazaar & Cookie Sale Day. This day will also include the fun & delightful ladies that call themselves SOS Ensemble for a vaudeville style holiday show at 12pm.

We will be closed on both Christmas Day & New Year's Day as well as closing at 2:30pm the days prior. Regarding classes the day after, please call ahead. At this time I have been notified Michele will be canceling her in-person 1:15pm chair fitness class on 12/24 & 12/31 as well as her 9am on 12/26 & 1/2. Line Dancing is canceled 12/24 thru 12/31 resuming on Thursday, 1/2. Fran's Dance Class will be cancelled Thursday, 12/26.

Please refer to the attached calendar for daily activities as well as the attached menu. Especially this time of year, items are subject to change so please call ahead.

I'm sure there are things I am missing so I encourage you to come to the Center to get the most up-to-date information.

As always, we are here for you Mon- Fri from 8:30am-4:30pm unless otherwise noted. 5801 N Natoma, Chicago, IL 60631. (773)775-6071.

We hope to see each & every one of you in December so we can wish you a proper glad tidings for a happy holiday season.

Take Care & Stay Safe.
