Free Health Screenings at Catholic Health Services

The Catholic Health Services of Long Island will offer health screenings, education materials, refreshments and children's activities during their Healthy Sundays event. No registration is necessary. For more information, please call 516-705-2595.

Free Vivitrol Education and Support Group
Le arn more about a new treatment for opiate addiction—Vivitrol—and hear from those currently receiving this treatment through A Shot at Life, a Nassau County drug treatment program.

A Shot at Life provides a monthly injection of extended-release, FDA-approved medication that caps the brain's receptors, reduces cravings and blocks the high. Program participants also receive counseling, including the weekly Vivitrol Education and Support group meetings.

Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Trainings
Learn to recognize the signs of drug abuse and reverse an opioid overdose during one of these Nassau County trainings. Free NARCAN kits will be distributed to trainees.

Free Mental Health First Aid Training

The Long Island Health Collaborative and the Mental Health Association of Nassau County will offer a free two-session mental health first aid training.

This eight-hour course offers the skills to help a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.

Both sessions are required. Certification will only be provided to participants who attend both.
