Gilbert Burgos, MD, MPH, has been named Interim Executive Director of NQP. He will be serving in this role in addition to his role as Medical Director for NQP where he is engaged in defining the overall direction and clinical vision of the organization.
Dr. Burgos has held several senior level medical management positions throughout his career. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Medical Management, and Executive Vice President/Chief Medical Officer at Advantage Care Physicians/Preferred Health Partners. He was also Senior Vice President/Chief Medical Officer at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, MI, where his efforts contributed to the successful financial improvement of the hospital. Dr. Burgos received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine,
a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health, a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University, and is a Board Certified Physician Executive of the American Association for Physician Leadership.
Dr. Burgos takes over for David Nemiroff, LCSW, Executive Director of the Long Island Federally Qualified Health Centers (LIFQHC), who was instrumental in laying the groundwork for the development of NQP’s Project Management Office. David will continue to focus on his role with the LIFQHC, in which he is responsible for overall operations. We thank him and wish him continued success, and extend a warm welcome to Dr. Burgos.
