EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 2, 2025: DOC STAMP TAX

Documentary Stamp Tax (Doc Stamp) 

• Doc Stamp Tax Proposals 
• REALTORS® successfully blocked 11 attempts raise the documentary stamp tax for a variety of proposals ranging from a $0.50 doc stamp tax hike to up to a $1.50 increase. 
• A $0.07 doc stamp tax increase ($2.25 to $2.32) was adopted to support the: 
• Domestic Violence and Sex Trafficking Survivor Housing Assistance Fund 
• Managed by DHHS, funding includes: 
• Grants, loans, and assistance for housing stability 
• Reimbursement for service providers aiding victims 
• Effective September 2025 

What is the Domestic Violence and Sex Trafficking Survivor Housing Assistance Fund?

A new fund created in 2025 to facilitate and encourage housing for victims of domestic violence and trafficking. This fund will be overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services and can facilitate grant programs for new housing options or to revitalize existing housing. The fund may also be used to reimburse providers of services to victims of domestic violence or sex trafficking survivors.

CARAVAN ACROSS NEBRASKA WITH THE COLUMBUS BOARD OF REALTORS®

Our Leadership Team met with the Columbus Board of REALTORS® on Thursday, August 14th at the Oak Room of Columbus to discuss important topics happening at the Nebraska REALTORS® Association and spread the word about our new Membership Value campaign we are focusing on this year. We are thoroughly enjoying meeting one-on-one with local associations across the state and gaining more insight on what members need. We can’t wait to incorporate all of your ideas!

The Home Buyer's Assistance Foundation has three terms ending in 2025.
