NTRUST BRINGS NEBRASKA REALTORS® TOGETHER IN KEARNEY

We held our new summer meeting, nTrust, June 29–30 at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney. With more than 120 members in attendance, nTrust provided an exciting opportunity to connect, learn, and help shape the future of our association.

The event kicked off with an evening reception at Drop Zone, where members enjoyed dinner, drinks, networking, and a little friendly competition on the golf simulators. During nTrust, attendees also took advantage of two free continuing education courses, participated in our Summer Board of Directors Meeting, and engaged in a collaborative Strategic Planning Session focused on identifying priorities and creating opportunities for continued growth and success for Nebraska REALTORS®. Thank you to everyone who attended this meeting and helped make it a success!

Seeking Candidates for our Past President's Scholarship!

Applicant Qualification Criteria:

• A college junior or senior in good standing for the academic year scholarship is received, OR a post-graduate student in good standing seeking an advanced degree.
• 
• If a college junior or senior undergraduate: Enrolled as a full-time student at one of the University of Nebraska campuses. 
• Working toward a degree in Business Administration or Construction Management. 
• Additionally, all finalists are required to attend a personal interview as part of selection process.

DOC STAMP INCREASE EFFECTIVE JULY 19

Effective July 19, 2026, Nebraska's Real Estate Transfer Tax (Documentary Stamp Tax) will increase by $1.00 per $1,000 of property value as a result of LB1067.

The current transfer tax rate of $2.32 per $1,000 will increase to $3.32 per $1,000 for deeds recorded on or after July 19.

The additional revenue generated by this increase will be directed to the Rural Workforce Housing Investment Fund and the Middle-Income Workforce Housing Investment Fund.

Action Required - Please review and update any:

• Closing worksheets
• Net sheets
• Seller proceeds estimates
• Transaction calculators
• Brokerage forms or templates that calculate documentary stamp tax

To ensure accuracy, transactions closing on or after July 19 should reflect the new rate of $3.32 per $1,000 of value.
