For the first time ever, the Nebraska Recycling Council is hosting our annual fall conference and awards show ONLINE October 13-16th, and we are so excited to introduce our digital platform (Run The World) and bring in some fantastic speakers from all over the country!

Registering for NRC’s 2020 Fall Conference offers attendees full access to all the live workshops, presentations, networking events, and the session recordings and resources to access later. The conference hits on today’s most relevant topics in resource recovery for our municipalities, businesses, and for rural and urban recycling programs. Featured sessions include best practices for rural recycling and drop-off programs, how-to guidance on conducting waste audits, recycling market development with the US EPA, municipal contracting for solid waste and recycling, and a keynote presentation from Kate Bailey, the policy and research director of Eco-Cycle in Boulder, CO, offering solution-based approaches for strengthening recycling programs.

Following massive upheaval and unparalleled struggles over the past three years, the recycling industry is now attracting unprecedented investments to rebuild and expand recycling in the U.S. New funding, policies, and partners are coming together to help transform recycling from a waste management strategy to a key foundation of a circular economy. This upbeat presentation will focus on the silver lining of the recent turmoil and solution-based approaches to building resiliency and strengthening recycling in local programs.
About the Keynote Speaker
Kate Bailey is the Policy and Research Director for Eco-Cycle, based in Boulder, Colorado. Eco-Cycle is one of the oldest and largest non-profit recycling organizations in the world and has 44 years of hands-on experience with nearly every aspect of the recycling stream, including hauling materials, MRF operations, education and outreach programs, local and state legislation, advocacy, and hard-to-recycle material collections. Kate is a national expert in creating community infrastructure, policies and programs to reduce waste and increase recycling, and has experience working with a wide range of stakeholders all along the supply chain to advance a circular economy.
