NRG Oncology Now Accepting Travel Award Applications for NRG2025 in Washington, DC

We are now accepting applications for travel awards for the upcoming NRG Summer Meeting in Washington DC from July 24-26, 2025. NRG Oncology seeks to support robust participation in our semiannual meetings through the provision of travel support. Current priorities for travel awards include young investigators, study chairs and engaged study champions, active committee members, member institution PI’s, and clinical research professionals who are actively engaged with NRG Oncology committees. If you have any questions about the travel award process, please contact meeting-reg@nrgoncology.org.

The types of Travel Awards include:

• NRG Clinical Research Professional (CRP)
• NRG Advanced Practice Provider (APP) new!
• NRG Early Career Investigator
• Machtay Young Investigator

The travel award application deadline is May 9, 2025 at 11:59pm ET. Awardees will be notified by May 30, 2025. More information can be found on our Travel Awards webpage.

Real ID Reminder - Travel Requirements

Starting May 7, 2025, a REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification, like a passport, will be required to board domestic flights. Please visit the DHS website for more information on this travel requirement.

4. CANCER PREVENTION & CONTROL

NRG-CC005/FORTE: IMPORTANT FORTE FedEx Account Update

The previous FedEx account for NRG-CC005 was closed as of April 22, 2025. Sites that have prepaid airbills for the FORTE blood collection kits need to contact the NRG Biobank Pittsburgh (PGH) to receive new airbills. This change only applies to NRG-CC005/FORTE.

5. GYNECOLOGIC

NRG-GY019 is quickly approaching the accrual cap. There are currently 6 slots remaining. Once 450 patients are enrolled, accrual will be suspended. Refer to Section 14.1 of the protocol for a more detailed description of the statistical plan.

NRG-GY026: Now accruing patients of all stages and all histologic subtypes of endometrial cancer. 



NRG-GY031: Please note, there is an error in the section 4.2 table and the Biospecimen Collection and Submission Manual. The Part I PK collection is to be done on Cycle 1, Day 1, and Cycle 1, Day 8. This will be updated with the next amendment.

6. HEAD & NECK

Reminder: please update treatment and AE data weekly. This is a Phase I trial and timely data submission is very important.

7. VTOC TRAINING

3. Health Care Access Committee Symposium

The NRG Oncology Health Care Access Committee (HCA) will be hosting their annual symposium on Wednesday, April 30, 2025; 1:30-3:00pm ET. The focus of this year’s symposium will be “Conquering the Geospatial Divide Challenging Rural Research & Cancer Care Delivery: Real world discussions with rural providers, trialists, and patient caregivers.” Refer to the agenda or the flyer for details. 4. REGISTER TODAY: The NRG-GU012 (SAMURAI) Webinar

The NRG-GU012 “SAMURAI” Study Principal Investigators will be hosting a webinar to discuss the trial and accept any questions regarding the study from sites. This webinar will be held on Friday, June 13th from 12:00-1:00pm ET / 9:00-10:00am PT. NRG-GU012 is a Phase II study of stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) for patients with unresected renal cell carcinoma receiving immunotherapy. Register here.

8. Radiation Oncology Webinar Series at ACR2025

“Radiation Therapy for Benign Conditions” will be the theme of this year’s Radiation Oncology session at the American College of Radiology Annual Meeting, which is being held at the Cabinet Room at the Washington, D.C. Hilton on Saturday, May 3^rd from 3-5 pm ET. The speakers will be Tarita Thomas, MD, PhD, MBA of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Sam Chao, MD of the Cleveland Clinic/Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Thomas’ presentation is entitled “Radiation Therapy for Benign Musculoskeletal Conditions;” Dr. Chao’s presentation is entitled “Stereotactic Radiosurgery for Benign Brain Indications.” The moderators for this session will be Jessica Cruttenden, MD, of the University of Utah and Nicholas Eustace, MD, PhD, of the City of Hope.
