#NRG2023 FORTE Workshop

Health Disparities Committee Workshop

As part of the virtual-only offerings of #NRG2023, the Health Disparities Committee is hosting a workshop that is being held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 2-3:30pm ET. Please see the flyer posted on the NRG Oncology website for details.

#NRG2023 Social Media Workshop

The NRG Oncology Communications Committee is pleased to announce our Social Media Workshop as part of #NRG2023. The workshop is being held in-person and will be livestreamed for virtual attendees. It is scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2023, from 8:30-9:30am ET. All members are invited to attend. Miriam Knoll, MD (Montefiore Nyack Hospital) and Kristin Higgins, MD (Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University), and both members of the NRG Oncology Communications Committee, are the workshop chairs. Reminder: CTN/CRA Workshop – Educational Sessions scheduled for Friday, January 27^th

Please be sure to sign up to attend the Clinical Trial Nurse (CTN)/CRA Workshop- Educational Session on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 7:30-11:30 am ET. The Protocol Support Committee (PSC) will offer the “Continuing Education Program” for in-person and virtual attendees. This session is for both seasoned and new research staff. Please refer to the agendas for PSC Programing offered at NRG2023. Agendas and slides for PSC sessions are currently posted on the NRG Oncology website (Login required).



The PSC is thrilled to announce the PSC programing on January 26 and 27 have been approved by the Virginia Nurses Association to award a total of 10.25 contact hours. The Virginia Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

GOG-0210: Biospecimens, biomarker data, clinical data, and epidemiologic data are available for request. Please visit the NRG Oncology website for more information on this important study with the overall goal of improving the outcome and/or quality of life for patients with endometrial cancer.

Request for PILOT Project Applications

Date Issued: December 1, 2022

Submission Due Date: February 17, 2023

NRG Oncology NCORP solicits PILOT projects addressing NRG NCORP Health Disparities Research (HDR) priorities. PILOT projects should generate preliminary data and address feasibility issues to inform the development of a future NCORP concept. The current focus of HDC is to move past simply documenting outcome differences to the development and testing of interventions to remedy them. Applications for this award should address committee priorities including:

• Focus 1. Development of interventional studies to decrease health disparities among disparity populations, including racial and ethnic minorities, residents in rural geographic areas, and individuals from other medically underserved groups.
• Focus 2. Testing interventional studies for optimal care of at-risk elderly.
• Focus 3. Identify optimal access to cancer screening, treatment, symptom management and surveillance among diverse disparity populations.
