REMINDER: CTN/CRA Workshop - Educational Sessions scheduled for Friday, January 27

Please be sure to sign up to attend the Clinical Trial Nurse (CTN)/CRA Workshop- Educational Session on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 7:30-11:30 am ET. The Protocol Support Committee (PSC) will offer the “Continuing Education Program” for in-person and virtual attendees. This session is for both seasoned and new research staff. Please refer to the agendas for PSC Programing offered at NRG2023. Agendas and slides for PSC sessions are currently posted on the NRG Oncology website (Login required).

The PSC is thrilled to announce the PSC programing on January 26 and 27 have been approved by the Virginia Nurses Association to award a total of 10.25 contact hours. The Virginia Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

NRG-GY012 and NRG-GY023 – BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF SUPPLY IS VERY LIMITED - Please be advised that VWR has a very limited supply of blood pressure cuffs at present. Please check your supplies on site for any overlooked cuffs prior to ordering. Thank you for your cooperation.

Request for PILOT Project Applications

Date Issued: December 1, 2022

Submission Due Date: February 17, 2023

NRG Oncology NCORP solicits PILOT projects addressing NRG NCORP Health Disparities Research (HDR) priorities. PILOT projects should generate preliminary data and address feasibility issues to inform the development of a future NCORP concept. The current focus of HDC is to move past simply documenting outcome differences to the development and testing of interventions to remedy them. Please see full details located on the NRG Health Disparities Committee webpage.

NRG Mentorship Working Group Update

Are you a new CRA or CTN within NRG Oncology? Would you like a mentor to help guide you through your new role as a CRA or CTN? Are you an institution in need of more guidance after an audit? The Mentorship Working Group can provide you a mentor! You can apply for a mentor by going to the NRG Oncology website and clicking on the Clinical Trials tab, then Clinical Trials Resources, then Introductory Materials. You will find the Mentor Form to complete. The instructions on how to submit are located on the form. Hope to hear from you soon!

Reminder: Biospecimen Bank San Francisco Shipping Update

Due to an ongoing strike by some employees at the University of California, the NRG Oncology Biospecimen Bank San Francisco located at UCSF is requesting sites to use Fed Ex for all shipments to the bank until further notice. UPS deliveries to the San Francisco bank cannot be guaranteed during the strike. Please use Federal Express for specimen shipments or delay non-urgent shipments at this time. Please contact the lab at NRGBB@UCSF.EDU prior to resuming shipping by UPS.
