Translational Science Head and Neck Cancer Working Group Session Format Change – July 25^th from 1:00 – 2:00 pm ET (IN PERSON)

The format of the NRG Oncology Translational Science Head and Neck Cancer Working Group session has been changed from virtual to in-person at the 2025 NRG Oncology Summer Meeting and will be held on Friday, July 25^th from 1:00 – 2:00 pm ET at the Marriott Marquis Washington, D.C. The session will feature Neil Gross, MD (MD Anderson Cancer Center) discussing “NRG-HN014: Building on Translational Opportunities in CSCC;” Nicole Schmitt, MD (Emory University) discussing “Blood Biomarkers of Response to Neoadjuvant Immunotherapy in Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma;” and Joseph Zenga, MD (Medical College of Wisconsin) discussing “Treatment-Induced Remodeling of the T Cell Landscape in Mucosal and Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma.” Neil Hayes, MD, MS, MPH is the Head and Neck Cancer Working Group Chair; Sidharth Puram, MD, PhD, is the Vice Chair.

Translational Science Genitourinary Cancer Working Group Session - July 25^th from 4:30 – 6:00 pm ET (IN PERSON)

The Translational Science Genitourinary Cancer Working Group, which was held virtually at the January 2025 NRG Semiannual Meeting, will now also take place in person at the 2025 NRG Oncology Summer Meeting on Friday, July 25^th from 4:30 – 6:00 pm ET at the Le Droit Park-Shaw Room on Level 3. The session will feature Judd Englert, MD, PhD from Amgen discussing “Bispecific Breakthroughs: T-Cell Engagers and Xaluritamig in Prostate Cancer Therapy;” Dale Muzzey, PhD of Myriad Genetics discussing “Advancing multi-modal biomarker development in GU cancers with RNA, digital pathology AI, and ctDNA;” and Luciane Tsukamoto Kagohara, PhD (Johns Hopkins University) discussing “Multi-omics analysis to unravel biomarkers of responses to immunotherapies.” The Chair of the NRG Oncology Translational Science Genitourinary Cancer Working Group is Phuoc Tran, MD, PhD.

Translational Science Committee Session (IN PERSON)

The Translational Science Committee session at the 2025 NRG Oncology Summer Meeting will be held on Thursday, July 24^th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm ET in the Liberty I-L Room on Level 4 of the Marriott Marquis Washington, D. C. The session will feature Alyssa Bujnak, MD (University of California, Irvine) discussing “NRG Oncology/GOG-0240 NIH Cancer Moonshot: Molecular Characterization of Advanced and Recurrent Cervical Carcinoma;” Zhang Xiang, PhD (Baylor College of Medicine) discussing a proposed project entitled “Integrating Baseline ctDNA Detection and Immune Signature Analysis to Predict Pathologic Complete Response in HER2-Positive Breast Cancer: Insights from the NSABP B-52 Trial;” and Phuoc Tran, MD, PhD discussing a proposed project entitled “Validation of a Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Biomarker in the NRG GU006 Prostate Cancer Trial.” The session Co-Chairs are Michael Birrer, MD, PhD (Translational Science Committee Chair); Adam Dicker, MD, PhD and Vered Stearns, MD (Translational Science Committee Vice Chairs). NRG Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Symposium

Calling all APPs! We are pleased to announce our NRG Oncology Advanced Practice Providers (APP) Symposium to be held during the NRG2025 Summer Meeting in Washington, DC on Friday, July 25, 2025, 8:15-9:45am ET. The session will also be available virtually. The goals for the session will be to identify the different roles that APPs can serve in NCI-sponsored research and elevate their involvement in clinical research at practice sites. The session chairs are Deb Bruner, Kathleen Castro, Christa Braun-Inglis, and Melyssa Foust.

NCORP Town Hall

Join us at the NRG NCORP Town Hall in Washington DC on July 25, 2025, 10 – 11:30am. Dr. Schoen will provide an update the FORTE trial and Dr. Ganz will discuss the newly activated trial, NRG-CC015. Dr. Ayal Aizer will present the results of a multi-center phase III trial of SRS vs. HA-WBRT in which the results showed improved outcomes with SRS. We will also hear NCOR and CCDR updates from our NCI representatives, Kathleen Castro and Rachelle Brick. NRG Oncology Protocol Support Committee (PSC) – Educational Sessions

Please be sure to sign up to attend the PSC Sessions being held during the NRG Oncology Summer Meeting in Washington, DC. The PSC will host a Continuing Education session, a Lunch and Learn and Roundtable presentations on Thursday, July 24; and a Protocol Spotlight Session (NRG-CC015 / NRG-GY036 / NRG-BR009) on Friday, July 25. Please refer to the posted flyers or agendas (login required) for more details about the PSC programing offered at #NRG2025. The PSC programming at #NRG2025 has been approved by the Virginia Nurses Association to award contact hours. The Virginia Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.



Communications & Digital Engagement Workshop

The NRG Oncology Communications Committee is pleased to announce our Communications & Digital Engagement (CDE) Workshop as part of #NRG2025. The workshop, being held as a virtual session, is scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025, 1-2pm ET. Drs. Kristin Higgins and Miriam Knoll, members of the NRG Oncology Communications Committee, are the session chairs. NRG-GY026: Reminder! Now accruing patients of all stages and all histologic subtypes of endometrial cancer.

NRG-GY031: Please note, there is an error in the section 4.2 table and the Biospecimen Collection and Submission Manual. The Part I PK collection is to be done on Cycle 1, Day 1, and Cycle 1, Day 8. This will be updated with the next amendment.

8. HEAD & NECK

NRG-HN011: The Spanish-translated consent form for Amendment 3 and CIRB approval of the form are available on CTSU.

NRG-HN008: Reminder! Please update treatment and AE data weekly. This is a Phase I trial and timely data submission is very important.

4. PSC launches “Discuss With Us” monthly series

The NRG Oncology Protocol Support Committee (PSC) is excited to announce the inaugural launch of Discuss With Us session on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 2pm ET.

PSC Discuss With Us is an interactive forum for research staff to engage with one another, to ignite conversation and exchange information, with the goal that we continue to evolve as researchers and caregivers.

Each session will focus on a relevant research topic and will include a brief presentation from PSC members, as well as a subject matter expert. This is an excellent opportunity for research professionals from different backgrounds to learn about a new topic, or to share their expertise in an area that is known to them. PSC Discuss With Us will take place via zoom on the 3^rd Wednesday of every month at 2pm ET (1pm CT/12pm MT/11am PT) for 1 hour. Once you register you will be given a calendar invite for all future sessions. Use the QR code to register today!
