NRG Protocol Support Committee – Educational Sessions

Please be sure to sign up to attend the PSC Nurse/CRA Educational Sessions being held during the NRG Oncology Summer Meeting. The Protocol Support Committee (PSC) will offer Continuing Education sessions on Thursday, July 20th, and a Protocol Spotlight session (featuring presentations for NRG-BR009, GU010, and GY025) on Friday, July 21st. These sessions are for both seasoned and new research staff. Please refer to the posted flyers and agendas for more details about the PSC programing offered at #NRG2023. Agendas and slides for PSC sessions are currently posted on the NRG Oncology website (Login required).

 

The PSC is thrilled to announce that the PSC sessions have been approved by the Virginia Nurses Association to award a total of 9.25 contact hours. The Virginia Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

NRG-RTOG 9408 Used for the Validation of AI-based Predictive Model in Prostate Cancer

An AI-based predictive model was able to identify patients with a predominately intermediate risk for prostate cancer that are likely to benefit from short-term androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). Validation for the model was performed using data from the NRG-RTOG 9408 clinical trial that randomized men to receive radiotherapy with or without four months of ADT. The results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Reminder: Independence Day Holiday Closures
