Summer Symposium - Rare Tumors: Ideas for Implementation of Novel Concepts.

Be sure to register for this informative event happening Thursday, July 20, 2023. 8am – 12pm ET. Presentations will focus on the design, implementation strategies, and progress in clinical trials involving rare tumors. The information presented will span novel clinical trial design with incorporation of novel statistical design and molecular profiling.

NRG Protocol Support Committee – Educational Sessions

Please be sure to sign up to attend the PSC Nurse/CRA Educational Sessions being held during the NRG Oncology Summer Meeting. The Protocol Support Committee (PSC) will offer Continuing Education sessions on Thursday, July 20^th, and a Protocol Spotlight session (featuring presentations for NRG-BR009, GU010, and GY025) on Friday, July 21^st. These sessions are for both seasoned and new research staff. Please refer to the posted flyers and agendas for more details about the PSC programing offered at #NRG2023. Agendas and slides for PSC sessions are currently posted on the NRG Oncology website (Login required).

The PSC is thrilled to announce that the PSC sessions have been approved by the Virginia Nurses Association to award a total of 9.25 contact hours. The Virginia Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

NRG-RTOG 9408 Used for the Validation of AI-based Predictive Model in Prostate Cancer

An AI-based predictive model was able to identify patients with a predominately intermediate risk for prostate cancer that are likely to benefit from short-term androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). Validation for the model was performed using data from the NRG-RTOG 9408 clinical trial that randomized men to receive radiotherapy with or without four months of ADT. The results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine. NRG Mentorship Working Group Update

Are you a new CRA or CTN within NRG Oncology? Would you like a mentor to help guide you through your new role as a CRA or CTN? Are you an institution in need of more guidance after an audit? The Mentorship Working Group can provide you a mentor! You can apply for a mentor by going to the Introductory Materials page on the NRG website. You will find the Mentor Form to complete. Reminder: Independence Day Holiday Closures

The NRG Oncology Operations Offices, Statistics and Data Management Centers (SDMCs), Biospecimen Banks, Baylor Serum Bank, and McKesson's Clinical Research Services will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
